Our Story
At Rova Minimalism, we believe in the power of fashion and art to inspire and motivate people. We are a creative design store with a passion for unique and minimalist designs that make a statement. Our goal is to empower our customers to express themselves through their clothing and accessories.
My name is Vishali Sitharthan, and I'm a fashion designer. I earned my Master's degree from Academy of Art University in San Francisco, United States of America. I also completed my further education at George Brown College in Toronto, Canada, in order to enhance my skills. My passion for sewing and pattern making extends beyond my professional pursuits and into my hobby, where I produce meaningful products and clothing for my family. My childhood dream of making clothing led me to my career path.
During my time at George Brown College, I participated in a national competition called "Make Canada Competition". Our challenge was to design a product that used recycled materials from current pandemics that occurred between 2020 and 2021. The competition gave me the opportunity to think beyond my capabilities by researching and collaborating with other aspiring designers. I designed a jacket using recycled Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). I developed a sustainable jacket design using PPE waste to address the ongoing PPE waste and resulting environmental damage during the pandemic. My PPE puffer jacket was up-cycled from scraps collected at the manufacturer's factory where the hospital PPE was made. During the competition, my jacket won and was manufactured and sold by George Brown College shops. It was an incredible journey that led me to this career success.
